There are days and times that challenge even the most steadfast of spirits, days that cause us to question, “Why me?” and look for answers or solutions, even miracles, that just don’t seem to come. I’ve been blessed with a wonderful support network of people in my life who, on days like that, offered loving words of wisdom like, “Give your troubles over to God” or “Tomorrow is another day.” I guess, if you live long enough, you begin to realize that you are not in control and that there are some things that, no matter how hard we try, we are not capable of controlling or changing. I’m a firm believer that there’s a reason for everything that happens in our lives, even though we may not have the knowledge or the vision to see it or understand it in the moment. I’m learning that, truly, there is not a door that closes for which another doesn’t open and that, very often, the morning light of a brand new day brings sunshine promises for comfort and hope and peace and new beginnings.
